At the end of the eighties Prabhasa Dharma, Zenji started giving Zen retreats in Spain and Basque. Soon several Zen groups across the country arose. In the spring of 2002 the International Zen Institute of Spain was founded.

Since the mid nineties Jishin Hendriks, Osho travels several times a year to Spain to support the Spanish sangha.

Jishin, Osho conducts several Zen retreats in Spain and she trains the meditation leaders.

Once a year Jiun Hogen Roshi leads a Zen retreat in Spain.
