Teachers
Within IZIAE we formally have different groups of teachers: Zen master (Roshi), Zen teacher and priest (Osho) and lay minister. The following teachers humbly present themselves to you:

Zen Master

Jiun Hogen, Roshi
(appointed by Gesshin Prabhasa Dharma, Zenji in 1999)
"The gift that comes with this practice is a very deep faith. Somehow I always trust that everything will be allright. This is a miracle and a paradox in life.Maybe it is because of the paradoxes, that I find the Zen approach to life so interesting. For example, we say that the truth cannot be expressed in words. Yet, I am fascinated by the (im)possibility to formulate the truth in words forlectures or articles."

Osho's

Jishin Hendriks, Osho
(appointed lay minister by Gesshin Prabhasa Dharma, Zenji in 1995 and Osho by Jiun Hogen, Roshi in 2002)
"Being aware and practising zazen prepare you for ordinary life; in fact it ís everyday life. There is nothing to understand, yet at the same time it is most important how you open and close a door. From my own experience I know how difficult it is to combine a job and to walk the spiritual path at the same time. Therefore I appreciate to guide people in daily life situations."

Soan Poor, Osho
(appointed lay minister by Gesshin Prabhasa Dharma, Zenji in 1995 and Osho by Jiun Hogen, Roshi in 2002)
"My point of view is that there is nothing special to teach. The Zen student has nothing else to do but to wake up to the reality of life. Every part of my daily life is Zen practice. I combine traditional Rinzai Zen teachings with instructions on Mindful Awareness."

Enko Hogen Heynekamp, Osho
(appointed by Jiun Hogen, Roshi in 2002; Enko Hogen passed away on November 2, 2006)
"Zen is living from moment to moment. It is all about the questions the old masters already asked: What is your original face, here and now, in exactly these circumstances? Can you see Buddha in everyday reality? Can you show it?"

Lay Ministers

Tozan Cardona-Hine
(Appointed by Gesshin Prabhasa Dharma, Zenji in 1999)
"I am an artist. But poetry, painting and composing do not satisfy my need to be empty. Buddhism provides a path and practice that enables me to cope with reality. In my studio I teach a way to paint that is free from intellectual traps."

Shingetsu van der Groen
(Appointed by Gesshin Prabhasa Dharma, Zenji in 1999)
"With everything that happens: breathe in and know you breathe in; breathe out and know you breathe out. That way you connect to reality, to everyday life."

Hogo Dienske
(Appointed by Gesshin Prabhasa Dharma, Zenji in 1999)
"Together with three hundred spiders I live on a house-boat in Amsterdam. Spiders are very good at zazen. They hang motionless for hours to suddenly hurl forward."

Jokai Koenig
(Appointed by Gesshin Prabhasa Dharma, Zenji in 1999)
"For eight years now I have been living together with the meadows, the wood, the toads in the pool and the wind in the trees around the Moelmeshof. That is my sutra book. It is wonderful to practice kinhin under the high trees and go into the zendo afterwards to follow the way of these green monks."

Peter Shinkyo Vormschlag
(Appointed by Gesshin Prabhasa Dharma, Zenji in 1999)
"Demonstrate Zen through your body, said my first Zen teacher. There is NOTHING to say."

Other IZIAE lay ministers are Kanshin Borges, Shinsei Nicolai, and Genri Picko.
