Unsui ordination

Sunday July 24

Jiun Hogen roshi has ordained Linda Joy Howden and Inge Siefker as unsuis. On this occasion they received a new name: Taido (great peaceful way) and Shoren (blossoming lotus).

Unsui is the Japanese term for what could be called zen monks and nuns. Unsui means cloud water, which better indicates what it is about in Zen: to learn to live as cloud and water. Only those who have lived in the zen center for some time to dedicate themselves to zen practice and who plan to continue doing so for a number of years, can be ordained as unsuis.

Special guest: lama Gawang

Taido's mother had come over from Australia!
