Flamenco at Noorder Poort

From December 26 tot December 28 2005 a Flamenco workshop will be held at Noorder Poort.

Why Flamenco in a Zen center?

In both Flamenco and Zen we practice qualities like concentration, centering, focusing, grounding, fysical posture, awakeness, and last but not least joy.

Shoshi Israëli

We are very happy that Shoshi Israëli accepted our invitation to conduct a workshop of two days at Noorder Poort.
Shoshi is a Flamenco teacher and the art director of a theatergroup for children. Also she has her own school in Madrid. She lives with her family in Madrid and travels around the world to conduct Flamenco in several settings.
A few months ago she did a workshop with the zenstudents in Spain at the end of a sesshin with Jiun, Roshi and Jishin, Osho. This was a great succes.
Like the rythm of Flamenco, the course takes place within the rythm of the daily practice schedule at Noorder Poort. Therefore, in the morning and evening we have zazen practice.
We invite you to participate in the spirit of Flamenco which is a living form of art. It is a challenge to move from your center, to investigate rythm and to communicate with others.
